ECP1 – Romania upgrades e-filing for trade marks
The State Office for Inventions and Trademarks of Romania (OSIM) has successfully updated its trade mark e-filing with the support of European Cooperation at the EUIPO.

As of 27 July 2020, the National Industrial Property Office of the Dominican Republic (ONAPI) and the Intellectual Property Office of Saint Kitts and Nevis (IPOSKN) are part of TMclass.
Virtual high-level meetings in the absence of WIPO General Assemblies in Geneva
This year, the customary high-level meetings organised annually in the margins of the WIPO General Assemblies in Geneva are taking place in a new virtual format. This is in line with the EUIPO’s effort to adapt to the exceptional situation created by the COVID-19 pandemic and at the same time continue strengthening the international cooperation despite the new global challenges.
Update from the Executive Director of the EUIPO
The Executive Director of the EUIPO, Christian Archambeau, has released a new video update on the current situation at the Office. Mr. Archambeau gave information on filing trends, and on the new Ideas Powered for Business hub, which contains a series of initiatives to assist SMEs.
European Cooperation: Completion of ECP5 Capture and Store Historical Files in Bulgaria
More than 3.3 million pages, amounting to 77 000 separate trade mark dossiers, have been digitised in the Patent Office of the Republic of Bulgaria (BPO) as a result of the Capture and Store Historical Files project.

EU-funded projects: plant variety system in the Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic, supported by the EU-funded CarIPI project for which the EUIPO is the implementing agency, has launched a new Plant Variety Registry (PVR) system.
European cooperation: Over 600 certifications for IP offices
The EUIPO has attained 635 certifications in the framework of the European Cooperation Project ‘ECP5 Project Management Certification for IP offices’, reaching the majority of the participating intellectual property offices of the EU since the project began in 2016.
