David and Sally Abel, the British couple who have been live streaming their quarantine on the Diamond Princess cruise liner, said the UK federal government does not “offer a damn” about British guests onboard.
In a Facebook live post Mr Abel said they and the other British travelers had received no message from the UK Foreign Workplace.
“They simply don’t provide a damn. I’m extremely disillusioned with the UK but I have actually been for a while,” he said.He expressed his disappointment that United States travelers would be evacuated from the ship, which has been moored off the coast of Japan since February 5.
“All us Brits are going to have to do our own thing. It’s terrific how the Americans are going to come and take them house … the Australians are doing the same. But absolutely nothing is occurring for the UK [travelers]”
Mrs Abel added “No-one is speaking with us … We desire somebody to communicate with us, to tell us what’s going to occur to us. At the minute we just do not understand … I feel we have been completely ignored.”
Mr Abel added: “We have actually been overlooked and forgotten. There is no interest in us – not just Sally and me, the entire British [group of travelers] The ambassador for England in Japan, he has called us twice, all the Brits.”
Mrs Abel included that the ambassador had just duplicated what the ship’s captain had actually already informed them and had not provided any brand-new details about what would occur to them.
